Storytelling has been a passion of mine from the beginning. I used to fill up dozens of notebooks with stories I had written and eventually that passion translated into visual storytelling.
I discovered my passion for news and video production in second grade when I joined my elementary school's newscast. It was a far cry from high quality, but I loved working with a handful of classmates to put together a mini newscast. In high school I became serious about news and started working behind the scenes and eventually in front of the camera on my school's newscast, WK Today.
Throughout college I interned in multiple newsrooms doing everything from answering the phones to making coffee to writing for newscasts. No job was beneath me because I wanted to learn as much as possible from some of the best journalists in the business. Over the course of my internships I practiced pitching ideas, writing, producing, interviewing, and editing for multiple platforms.
After college I moved to Lincoln, NE to report for KLKN TV. During my time there I worked every shift, did every job, soaked up all the information I could, and immersed myself in the community so I could be the best possible reporter for the community.
While working in Lincoln I met my now husband, Brent. We are both passionate about storytelling and making a difference in our community. When we aren't working we love spending time at the local humane society and somehow two rescue dogs found their way home with us.
