About Me

Storytelling has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. What started as filling notebooks with stories eventually grew into a career centered on visual storytelling, journalism, and strategic communications.

I discovered my love for news early—back in second grade—when I joined my elementary school’s newscast. It wasn’t fancy, but it was collaborative and creative, and it sparked an interest that never faded. By high school, I was working both behind the scenes and on camera for my school’s newscast, learning firsthand how powerful responsible storytelling can be.

In college, I immersed myself in newsroom life through multiple internships, doing everything from answering phones to writing for newscasts. No role felt too small if it meant learning from experienced journalists. Those early experiences gave me a strong foundation in pitching story ideas, writing, producing, interviewing, and editing content for multiple platforms.

After graduating, I moved to Lincoln, Nebraska, to work as a reporter and fill-in anchor at ABC affiliate KLKN-TV. I covered breaking news, enterprise stories, and community issues, working a wide range of shifts and fully embedding myself in the communities I served. That time in local news shaped my approach to storytelling—one grounded in trust, clarity, and accountability.

Today, I lead communications and customer relations for a multi-location organization, overseeing brand strategy, media relations, crisis communications, and multimedia storytelling. While my role has evolved, the foundation remains the same: applying journalistic integrity and clear, compelling storytelling to build understanding, credibility, and connection across platforms.

Outside of work, I share life with my husband, Brent, who is a news director for a local TV station. We’re passionate about giving back to our community and spend time volunteering with our local humane society and various dog rescue organizations. Along the way, we’ve adopted six rescue dogs, one of whom has crossed rainbow bridge. The dogs keep us on our toes and remind us daily of the importance of compassion, connection, and the gift of a second chance.
